Conrad Jon Godly, born in 1962 in Davos, Switzerland, explores the relationship between human nature and the sublime in his artwork, capturing the awe and terror of nature. His 2020 series, Nevertheless, uses thick impasto canvases to convey energy, hope, and the richness of his surroundings, inspired by the lockdown. After studying at the School of Art in Basel, Godly found success in photography from 1988 to 2004, before returning to Switzerland, where he still resides. His work has been recognized by Kyoto's Ryosokuin-Kenninji Temple. Godly continues to find inspiration in the dramatic Swiss landscape, blending spirituality with a message of care for nature.
