Timothy Curtis is a self-taught artist from Philadelphia who began his artistic journey with graffiti. After serving a long prison sentence, he moved to New York City in 2015 and developed a dedicated studio practice. During his incarceration, Curtis studied art history, drawing, and painting, and formed a mural crew to create educational works within the prison. Since his release, he has held solo exhibitions in Tokyo, New York, and Berlin, and participated in notable group exhibitions such as The Pencil is a Key: Drawings by Incarcerated Artists at The Drawing Center. Curtis is set to present new works at the K11 Art Foundation in Hong Kong in 2023 and in the Echoes of Picasso exhibition at the Museo Picasso Málaga later that year.
