Alison is a graduate of Nottingham Trent University, where she earned a degree in Fine Art and Printmaking. Not only is she an accomplished artist, but she also made history as the first female stonemason for the City of Nottingham.

As a children's illustrator, Alison has authored and illustrated over 20 published books, working with prestigious publishers such as HarperCollins, Nosy Crow, Hodder Children’s, Templar, Usborne, Little Tiger Press, Alfred Knopf, and more recently, Artisan.

Her oil paintings seamlessly blend traditional portraiture techniques inspired by the old masters with a touch of contemporary whimsy. Known for her anthropomorphic depictions of cats and dogs, Alison captures their human-like antics with remarkable charm and precision. After initially pursuing a career in children's book illustration, her transition to oil painting has garnered widespread recognition for its unique style and captivating portrayal of animals.
