Painter Tom French (1982-2019) is known for his unique style of double imagery and shifting abstraction which explore the complexity of the relationship between the conscious and unconscious mind. Born in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, he studied at the Newcastle School of Art, and Sheffield Institute of Art, graduating in 2005. French’s work was exhibited at solo shows and fairs in both the UK and US, including Scope Miami Beach, Scope New York, and the posthumous exhibition Transcend at Unit London in 2020. Since Transcend, limited edition releases have been produced from the artist’s estate, at the family’s request.
