Born in 1979 in Linares, Spain, Miguel Ángel Belinchón Bujes—known professionally as Belin—is renowned for his distinctive ability to merge hyperrealism with suburban and urban landscapes. A leading figure in Spanish urban art, he has over 15 years of experience in street and mural art.A surrealist and innovator, Belin developed Post Neo-Cubism, a personal visual language that fuses realism and cubism as a contemporary tribute to Pablo Picasso. Over the past decade and a half, he has explored human nature through a constant search for formal perfection, refining shapes and lines with exceptional precision.More recently, his work has evolved toward a new aesthetic approach. By multiplying viewpoints and angles, Belin deconstructs and reconstructs faces and bodies, freeing himself from classical rules of proportion. This deliberate distortion allows him to capture the full diversity of human expression and emotion, pushing his art toward a more subjective and abstract dimension.Breaking traditional proportions has become a central source of inspiration, leading to complex compositions in which fragmented features reveal nuanced emotional states. His characters’ faces are disassembled and reassembled to express the depth, contrast, and multiplicity of human feelings. Thanks to his innate sense of proportion and technical mastery, Belin has been considered a reference in urban art since he began his career in 2001. He is internationally recognized for his striking portraits, which capture the essence and intensity of his subjects. Deeply inspired by urban environments, his large-scale murals—created entirely with spray paint and without the use of stencils—are instantly recognizable within the eclectic world of street art.Elements of his earlier hyperrealistic drawing are now seamlessly combined with his Post Neo-Cubist approach, creating a dynamic and unmistakable style. This intentional departure from realism has further reinforced the uniqueness of his work.Belin has collaborated with major brands such as Dockers and Carhartt, and with renowned tattoo artists including Kat Von D. His artwork can be found across the globe, including in Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Israel, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Brazil, the United States, and Mexico.
