A leading figure of kinetic and Op Art, Carlos Cruz-Diez centred his practice on colour as an autonomous, ever-changing phenomenon. From his bases in Caracas and Paris, he developed seminal series such as the Physichromies, Chromointerférences and immersive Chromosaturations, which activate colour through light, time and the viewer’s movement.
Across public installations and museum exhibitions worldwide, Cruz-Diez transformed perception into a participatory event. His research bridged studio, street and pedagogy, leaving a profound legacy on how artists and audiences experience colour in space.
