Emi Kuraya, born in 1995, is rapidly emerging as one of the most captivating and innovative voices in contemporary Japanese art. A graduate of Tokyo’s prestigious Tama Art University, Kuraya has already established herself with several high-profile solo exhibitions, both in Japan and internationally, including at Perrotin Seoul in South Korea. Her work has also been featured at renowned events such as Art Basel Hong Kong and Frieze New York, earning widespread acclaim for its freshness and rich, layered meanings that draw in viewers. Since 2018, Kuraya has been a member of Kaikai Kiki, the influential art collective founded by Takashi Murakami.
