Georgia Dymock’s practice draws on a wide range of art historical influences, most notably Surrealism, Pop Art, Fragmented Cubism, and Neoclassicism. Using imagination and humour as guiding forces, she reimagines herself and others through paint, exploring a liminal psychological space shaped more by the subconscious than by outward appearance.Central to her work is the deconstruction of the body into simplified, often gender-neutral forms. Stripped back and ambiguous, her figures seem untethered from a specific time or context. Rendered in bold, saturated colours, these voluminous anthropomorphic characters inhabit dynamic compositions where geometric structures meet curvaceous landscapes, populated by fairytale-like creatures and symbolic objects.Based in London and represented by Gillian Jason Gallery, Dymock holds an MFA in Fine Art Painting from the Slade School of Fine Art (2023), a Graduate Diploma from Chelsea College of Arts (2020), and a BSc in Anthropology from UCL (2019). She is the recipient of the 2023 Cass Art Prize, was selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2024, and is a finalist for the Ingram Prize 2024. Her work is held in international private collections and in the institutional collection of the Museum Inima de Paula, Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
