Inès Longevial (born 20 November 1990 in Agen, France) is a French painter and illustrator based in Paris. She grew up in the South-West of France and began drawing and painting at a young age, inspired by artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Modigliani, and later, Niki de Saint Phalle, Georgia O’Keeffe, and Paula Modersohn-Becker.
After completing studies in applied arts (DSAA) in Toulouse, she moved to Paris at the age of 23 to further her career. Longevial first gained visibility via Instagram, where she shared her paintings and built a following, which helped draw the attention of galleries and collaborators.
Her work often centres on themes of femininity, memory, identity, and nature, rendered through luminous colour palettes, explorations of light and shadow, and intimate portraiture. She frequently uses self-portraiture or close emotional portrayals of women, seeking to convey strength, vulnerability, and interior life without objectification.
Longevial has exhibited internationally, including solo shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Shanghai, and London, and is represented by the gallery Almine Rech (as well as Ketabi Bourdet in France). In 2023, a monograph on her work was published by Rizzoli.
