His path into photography grew out of a lifelong fascination with the energy and adventure of rock and roll.Westenberg began photographing in 1980 as a curious beginner, but his commitment to the medium solidified in 1982 during a formative year abroad—six months in Copenhagen while studying architecture, followed by another six months in Barcelona.
