Malcolm T. Liepke (b. 1953, Minneapolis) is an American figurative painter celebrated for intimate, atmospheric portraits rendered in rich, painterly layers. Drawing on the legacies of Sargent, Degas and Toulouse-Lautrec, his subjects—often solitary, reflective figures—are characterised by saturated colour, lush skin tones and a palpable sense of mood. He lives and works in Minneapolis.
