Marilyn Minter (b. 1948, Shreveport, Louisiana; lives New York) is an American artist whose lush, hyperreal paintings, photographs and videos probe beauty culture, desire and glamour’s grit. Her first major retrospective, Pretty/Dirty, toured US institutions and culminated at the Brooklyn Museum; she has long combined studio practice with vocal feminist advocacy.
