

Mungo Thomson is an American conceptual artist born in Woodland, California, in 1969. Based in Los Angeles, he works across film, sound, sculpture, drawing, installation, and publishing.Thomson’s practice explores mass culture, systems of knowledge, and the ways images and information shape perception. Using appropriation, repetition, digital manipulation, and humour, he often transforms familiar cultural material into works that examine time, history, technology, and cosmic scale.He participated in the 2008 Whitney Biennial, and his work is held in major institutional collections, including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Walker Art Center.
