Nnena Kalu (born 1966) is a British-Nigerian artist whose practice spans drawing, painting and large-scale sculptural installations. Born in Nigeria and based in London, she is known for her highly physical, repetitive mark-making and the bold use of colour, line and accumulation. Working largely with felt-tip pens, paper and textiles, Kalu creates immersive works that explore rhythm, movement and intensity through sustained process. Her work has gained increasing international recognition for its originality and expressive power, and she is represented by ActionSpace, a London-based organisation supporting artists with learning disabilities.
