Drawing inspiration from the visual language of traditional trade union banners and protest placards, Rebecca Strickson’s work celebrates the strength of collective action, community, and shared purpose.Characterized by vibrant psychedelic colour palettes, densely layered compositions, and expressive typographic elements, her distinctive style evokes the spirit of the 1960s—a period defined by social activism, cultural transformation, and progressive change.A two-time finalist for the Association of Illustrators Awards, Strickson has built an acclaimed career since graduating from Goldsmiths in 2002. Her diverse client portfolio includes collaborations with Royal Mail, Coal Drops Yard, Sony, Channel 4, Southbank Centre, the Barbican, and Artsy.Beyond illustration, Strickson’s multidisciplinary practice encompasses large-scale murals, embroidered banners, and richly coloured textile works, extending her exploration of public expression, craftsmanship, and collective identity across a variety of media.
