Richard Tuttle is an American post-minimalist artist (b. 1941, Rahway, New Jersey) known for intimate, materially inventive works that blur sculpture, drawing and installation. Over a six-decade career he has pursued modest scales and unconventional formats while maintaining major institutional presence; highlights include the vast Turbine Hall commission I Don’t Know. The Weave of Textile Language at Tate Modern and a concurrent survey at Whitechapel Gallery. He lives and works between New York, New Mexico and Maine.
