Rob Pruitt is known for his multidisciplinary practice that blends formal precision with playful wit, pop culture references, and sharp commentary on the art world. His diverse body of work ranges from geometric compositions made of pennies and glittering panda paintings to silkscreened QR codes and reimagined American flags. Pruitt's large-scale performances are equally varied and irreverent, including a recurring charity flea market and a satirical, Hollywood-style awards ceremony that both celebrates and critiques the art establishment.Pruitt has exhibited internationally, with shows in New York, London, Tokyo, Paris, Rome, Berlin, and Los Angeles. In 2011, the Public Art Fund commissioned him to create a seven-foot-tall, chrome-plated statue of Andy Warhol, now standing in Union Square, New York. His work has been featured in major institutions such as Kunsthalle Zürich, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, and Tate Modern, among others.
