Wiliam Wegman
|
William Wegman (American, born 1943) is an artist best known for his witty, meticulously staged photographs and videos featuring Weimaraners. Emerging from the conceptual art milieu of the 1970s, he used deadpan humour and simple props to test ideas about performance, language, and the camera. Over time, his practice expanded across photography, drawing, painting, and film, while keeping an accessible, playful tone. Wegman’s work has been widely exhibited and is held in major museum collections.
