Christina Quarles is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work challenges assumptions about identity and the human figure. Drawing from personal experience and diverse influences, she uses gestural line-making, abstraction, and text to explore the complexity of bodily identity and self-perception. Quarles' paintings often combine human forms with layered compositions, using digital manipulation and stencils to create intricate, sculptural works.
