About the artist

Where to begin with the Dutch Arjen’s minimalist masterpieces? His abstracted, deconstructed representations of the body reveal just enough to create a sense of association, while its omissions leave us troubled and confused. The colourful compositions are finished with such meticulous precision that you couldn’t fault someone for mistaking them to be computer generated. Drawing on a vast array of art historical traditions and genres, Arjen has successfully created a unique visual vocabulary that is about to take the industry by storm.

‘The Joy of the Incomprehensible’ will be on view at Richard Heller Gallery from November 4 to December 16, 2023.
