About the artist

Rebecca Foster-Clarke’s work explores the unsettling experience of girlhood, weaving her characters into a tragicomedy that blends dark humour with an eerie sense of the uncanny. Through vivid colours and intense realism, the artist fosters a disquieting and dreamlike atmosphere in her paintings. Her most recent series of work, some of which were exhibited at Haricot Gallery, feature iconic scream queens including Shelley Duval, Mia Goth, Sissy Spacek and Sheryl Lee.

We can’t wait to check out ‘Disturbia’, on exhibition from tomorrow at Moosey Art, which promises to further explore the duality of female archetypes: the innocent and the monstrous. This exciting young artist is definitely one to watch!
