The Week Ahead: August 12 - August 18

Just like the rest of the artworld, we couldn’t have been more excited to see the new Banksy works that have been popping up around London last week. We can’t wait to see what else the artist has got in store for us in the upcoming days!

Today, a new collection of Fat Cap Sprays’ artworks are available to view from Stowe Gallery, drawing inspiration from animation motion blurs and techniques

Tomorrow will see the release of Avant Arte’s latest edition, a play on surrealism and abstraction from Wang Zhibo

From Wednesday, Gori Mora will exhibit new works with Unit London, opening a window into a world of queer identity, intimacy and belonging

Thursday will see the opening of Miranda Byk’s ‘Reverie’ at Moosey Art, which seeks to examine the ephemerality of existence

We are also looking forward to checking out RCA Painting’s exciting new talent Claire Kim’s solo show, curated by He Jie and Yang Qiming

Also Thursday, Platform will launch a new fundraising edition from legendary conceptual artist, Mel Bochner

Friday, Thinkspace are releasing a new editioned work with street artist STOM500. Keep your eyes peeled for more details to come tomorrow

Friday also marks the first day of Stupid Krap’s inaugural Australian winter group exhibition with Superwow Gallery at Mint Art House, featuring works from the likes of Lee Yungsung, Mila Useche and Cheng Zhe

Saturday, Devon Rodriguez will release a new watercolour print, this time depicting New York’s famous Manhattan Bridge

In a summer that has been all about the art of sports, Saturday will also see the opening of ‘Unity Through Skateboarding’ at SFMOMA, presented by Unity Skateboarding as part of the museum-wide exhibition, ‘Get in the Game’

The Thinkspace team have been working hard this week, as Sunday will see the opening of their collaborative exhibition with Secret Fresh Gallery, curated by BigBoy Cheng and featuring works from Guy Satayuu, Kraitai Dudu and Krachok, amongst others, plus a Yasuhito Kawasaki solo show
