Mini Prints 2024

'Mini Prints 2024' is a set of 12 unframed giclée mini prints that Andrew Scott released with Stowe Gallery as a timed edition in late 2024. Each reproduces one of the conceptual drawings he made before his frame experiments, among them 'Bloom', 'Ouroboros', 'Dreamer' and 'Waiting', printed at 41.5 x 28.5 cm on etching rag paper with hand-torn edges.

All Mini Prints 2024 Works By Andrew Scott (11)

Significance & Analysis

These mini prints are the clearest way to own the work Scott made before he became known for breaking frames. He has described that earlier practice as his "first love": "conceptual work focused on the human experience." Most of the twelve images began as drawings he posted in 2021 and 2022, several of them in pencil and charcoal and some redrawn with more detail for his first solo exhibition, which opened in early 2022. 'Dreamer' was the last piece he finished for that show.

The drawings work as single-image ideas rather than frame tricks. 'Ouroboros' takes its title from the ancient symbol of a serpent eating its own tail, while titles such as 'Resiliency', 'Searching', 'Shadow Self' and 'Suspended' point to the inner states the scenes explore.

How the release worked

Stowe Gallery opened the timed edition on 28 October 2024 and closed it on 18 December; no fixed edition size was announced. Scott chose to issue them unframed and keep the price low so that more people could collect his work over the holidays. They launched alongside 'Splash', a hand-finished frame edition now grouped with 'Parallel Worlds', with pre-orders for 'Splash' opening the same day as the mini prints.

Before and after

The images predate 'Breakthrough' (2023), his first show with Stowe Gallery, which was built around broken glass and altered frames. A year later he returned to the format with 'Mini Prints 2025', adding new conceptual illustrations to revised older ones.

What Size and Paper Are the Mini Prints 2024 Editions?

Every print in the set is a giclée on 310gsm etching rag paper with hand-torn edges, measuring 41.5 x 28.5 cm. They were sold unframed, individually or as the full collection of 12, as a timed edition running from 28 October to 18 December 2024.

Which Works Are in Mini Prints 2024?

The release has 12 mini prints: 'Bloom', 'Catch (Paper Plane)', 'Clockwork', 'Dissent', 'Dreamer', 'Home', 'Ouroboros', 'Resiliency', 'Searching', 'Shadow Self', 'Suspended' and 'Waiting'. Some release posts shorten two titles to 'Catch' and 'Shadow'.

How Is Catch (Paper Plane) Different From Andrew Scott's Other Catch?

They are separate works. 'Catch (Paper Plane)' is the mini print of a conceptual drawing he posted in 2022. Scott also made a frame work called 'Catch' in 2023, an illustration with broken glass shown at 'Breakthrough'. The mini print has no glass or frame alteration, so the hand-torn paper edge and the 41.5 x 28.5 cm size identify it.

How Do the 2024 Mini Prints Differ From the 2025 Set?

The 2024 prints are larger, at 41.5 x 28.5 cm, and have hand-torn edges. The 2025 mini prints are A4, 29.7 x 21 cm, with a deckled edge, and were released in Stowe Gallery's group mini print show. The 2025 set also mixes newly drawn illustrations with revised ones, where the 2024 prints all reproduce existing drawings.
